On January 4th, 2024, Port Cabo Rojo officially opened its doors to guests from around the world — and from that moment on, history began to unfold.
Located in the breathtaking province of Pedernales, Dominican Republic, Port Cabo Rojo is much more than a cruise terminal. It is a dream destination designed to offer unique and immersive experiences for travelers of all ages. Inspired by the area’s former mining towns and the vibrant Dominican culture, every corner of the port tells a story, from its colorful architecture to the radiant tones influenced by the region’s bauxite mineral.

Let’s take it from the start!
2024 was truly unforgettable. With the launch of the second phase of the port, Port Cabo Rojo expanded its attractions and energy like never before. Guests were welcomed to exciting new areas such as:
- Dune Rally, for adventure lovers
- Baby Beach, a relaxing beach club with pool bars
- Amusement rides, like Ferris wheel, carrousel, and more!
We also proudly welcomed some of the world’s largest cruise ships, turning Pedernales into one of the Caribbean’s most promising cruise destinations.
One of our most historic days took place on November 28th, 2025 when we received AIDAsol and Brilliance of the Seas together! Marking the first-ever double ship arrival at Port Cabo Rojo.

Growing together!
In just two years, Port Cabo Rojo has accomplished incredible milestones:
- 47 cruise arrivals
- 192,277 passengers welcomed from around the world
We have to give a special mention to Fundacion Genera ITM and its programs, which have grown with us and helped the community along the way. We are proud to be a plastic-free port, and we have also worked with Reef Check by monitoring that tracks the health of the coral, its biodiversity and the conditions of the environment.

The community is a big part of the development of this project. We have been growing together and learning to be better. Port Cabo Rojo currently provides a new source of jobs and, with Fundacion Genera ITM, has created the “DISTINTIVO PUERTOS DE CRUCEROS” a program accredited by INFOTEP that trains the community about hospitality and cruise tourism. The project has generated approximately 600 direct jobs during the peak construction phase, with a cumulative participation of around 1,133 people throughout the development of the works. In its current operational phase, the port generates 210 permanent direct jobs and between 1,800 and 2,000 indirect jobs, associated with the supply chain, suppliers, transportation, services, and subcontracting linked to the project.
As we celebrate these two amazing years, we look forward to creating unforgettable memories, and continuing to position Port Cabo Rojo as one of the most exciting cruise ports in the Dominican Republic and the Caribbean.
Here’s to many more years of adventure, culture, and unforgettable experiences in 2026!
