The cruise industry of the Mexican Pacific experienced a historic moment with the official presentation of Ensenada Bay Village, the new tourism and entertainment project developed in collaboration by ITM Group, Carnival Corporation, and Hutchison Ports.
The event was attended by María Marisa Abarca, General Director of Ports in Mexico; Miguel Angel Badiola, Public Relations Coordinator of the Baja California government; Claudia Agatón, Municipal President of Ensenada; Christine Duffy, President of Carnival Cruise Line; and Jorge Lecona, Executive Director of Hutchison Ports, along with authorities, industry leaders, and strategic partners. This occasion unveiled a transformative vision that reimagines the cruise experience by integrating history, gastronomy, adrenaline, and hospitality into a single destination.

A dream come true: this is Ensenada Bay Village
In a formal event held this Friday, December 5, followed by an exclusive lunch aboard the Carnival Panorama, attendees learned in detail about what is already considered one of the most innovative projects in the region.
Ensenada Bay Village is not simply a new cruise terminal: it is a gateway to the past, a celebration of 18th-century Californian culture, and an experience park that will place Ensenada at the center of international tourism.
Designed to receive two cruise ships simultaneously and welcome more than 9,000 visitors per day, the project was presented as a development engine for Baja California and an example of sustainable and collaborative tourism.
A setting inspired by history: time travel is possible
The audience learned how the architecture of the project is inspired by the old 18th-century Californian villas, with Mediterranean façades, colonial details, colorful tiles, and an atmosphere that recovers the essence of the Spanish missions that shaped the region.
Every corner was designed to tell a story. Visitors will walk through streets that evoke tradition, lively plazas, and spaces that celebrate Ensenada’s cultural heritage.

Ensenada Bay Village: culture, flavors, and unique experiences
As the commercial and gastronomic heart of the new port, Ensenada Bay Village will include:
- Shops and boutiques featuring exclusive brands and crafts
- Restaurants and bars showcasing the flavors of the region
- Signature experiences such as:
- Chocolate Factory
- Brewery
- Wine, Cheese, and Bread Experience
- Tequila Experience, accompanied by a vibrant Mexican folkloric show
The area will also include the highly anticipated Ancestral Spa, offering temazcal, massage cabins, and an extraordinary panoramic view, as well as Baby Beach, a beach club with heated pools, pool bars, fire pits, and specialty gastronomy.
Legends of Adventure: adrenaline at its finest
The presentation revealed the second major area of the project: Legends of Adventure, a theme park designed for those seeking an unforgettable day.
Here, cruise passengers will be able to enjoy:
- Ziplines with breathtaking views of the bay
- Dune Rally, an experience of speed, sand, and freedom
- Boat rides along a scenic river offering a completely different perspective of the destination
A space where adventure, nature, and innovation intertwine to create unforgettable memories.

A destination that will mark a before and after
During the event, representatives of ITM Group, Carnival Corporation, and Hutchison Ports emphasized that this project will not only modernize Ensenada’s tourism infrastructure but also reposition the port as a global benchmark in the cruise industry.
Ensenada Bay Village reflects a shared vision: creating sustainable destinations that generate economic, social, and cultural impact while offering world-class experiences.
Mauricio Hamui, CEO of ITM Group, shared: “All of this is possible thanks to a major business alliance, unprecedented in our country, and driven by a shared vision between Carnival Corporation, the concessionaire Hutchison Ports, and ITM Group.
With this project, we will add more ships and more cruise lines to strengthen this port and this destination, always responsibly and sustainably.”
A celebration of the Mexican Pacific
The presentation concluded with a guided tour of the project and a special lunch aboard the Carnival Panorama, where attendees were able to experience firsthand the inspiration, ambition, and scope of this emblematic development.
With this milestone, Ensenada takes a decisive step toward the future, positioning itself as one of the most attractive and promising ports in the Pacific.
Ensenada Bay Village will not only welcome cruise ships. It will welcome stories. Adventures. Flavors. Culture. And thousands of visitors ready to live an unprecedented experience.
