Local Training

Local Training

The training given by Fundación Genera ITM, focused on the bar and restaurant sector, and aimed at the community of Pedernales, began last Monday, March 4, with an average attendance of 67.92%.

The kickoff had the participation of 53 community members, of which 36 continued in the second week. This level of attendance reflects a significant commitment on the part of the participants, evidencing a strong interest in the content and objectives of the training.

With the aim of promoting local talent, an English teacher has been hired. During the first two weeks, two INFOTEP professors collaborated, who addressed topics related to Customer Service and the management of bars and restaurants.

Participants have demonstrated notable progress in areas relevant to their job performance, such as customer service, time management, and problem-solving in the context of their daily work. Special emphasis has been placed on English applied to customer service, with three hours a day dedicated to this skill, including practice, and role-playing of real situations with customers.

As an integral part of the training programme, participants had the opportunity to undertake practical sessions in Taino Bay, where they contributed to the operation of the port.

The culmination of this training process is scheduled for April 8, coinciding with the arrival of the second ship to Port Cabo Rojo, where we will celebrate the graduation of the team, highlighting the progress and opportunities for the professional development of the community.
